It just hit me that I am exhausted... but it's the good kind. :-)
The trip alone was enough to do anyone in - long, red-eye, not much sleep.. Then the craziness of getting through Haiti immigration and finding our bags (it's literally a search among hundreds of bags that have been pulled aside - however all of our bags made it and everything remained as we had packed it!) Then the wait in the hot sun outside as we waited for another couple to arrive in PAP. And then the long drive on dusty roads filled with potholes (more like canyons.) BUT... when we pulled past the gates of GLA, all the travel woes disappeared! We had arrived...
We hugged GLA staff members and it was fun to see everyone. Stephanie took us to our room, which is at the MAIN HOUSE! Yay... this means no trek up/down the hill from the guest house. So, we are staying here, where Samuel is, which makes this much easier... And we have our own little room, 1/2 bath and desk area... Perfect.
So... then it was all about the kiddo! We made our way up to his room and got him out to play on the balcony before dinner. And at the same time got to meet Heidi and Brady, who were playing with TA! We just enjoyed hanging out with our little guys and catching up... AND Cathleen had sent us each a gift (necklace with SC and TA's initials on them!) How fun... How cool, was that to open together?! Thanks so much Cathleen - you are here in our hearts!
So... we had dinner and then went back on the balcony... visited more with Heidi and Brady. And now... we are tired and going to bed! We are heading to the Baptist Mission for some shopping with Molly and Joyce at 9:30am.
