Day 2: Cathing Up

First off:  Thanks for the comments!  We love them, appreciate them and they are getting us though!  Keep ‘em coming!  J

What a full day...

We got up and started out on the balcony for about 1 hour with Samuel...  then it was off to the Baptist Mission with a large group of us.  We enjoyed buying some local goods, eating lunch and going to the local zoo (rabbits, goats, alligator, and monkey... oh, and ducks!)  :-)

Then we returned and got somewhat organized in our room and headed back up on the balcony for a few hours with the kiddos.  We bathed Samuel and Anri, so that was fun.  Then we decided we needed to go on a short walk for some Tampico (a soda-type drink that you buy on a corner house.)  So we took SC and Anri with us...

Then we headed to dinner (spaghetti tonight) and chatted with 2 other couples who are taking their son's home this weekend!  One from MI and the other from the Netherlands.  Stephanie shared the news regarding the "7" new dossiers (on the GLA site, but I hadn't seen it yet!.)  So, we are PRAYING that we are one of those…  she doesn’t know yet.

LAST UPDATED 18 December 2009  * Special note: 7 dossiers came out of courts today and 7 more will come out next week.  When we receive them in our hands, we will post them here.

We then went and got our suitcases of donation items and dropped them off and we were also able to chat with Dixie about Haiti, how they feel on adoption and some other Haiti things...  nice to chat with her on some of this stuff.

We were able to hang out in the living room with Samuel after all of that… for about an hour.  The Ramsey’s were also there (they are adopting twins) and so we just visited while the kids played.

  • Cathleen - your son is so sweet, and I mean that.  He is cuddly and adorable and just it too cute for his own good.  I loved spending time with him today!   He was engaged, “babbley” and enjoyed the toys.  He also liked his bath!  J  And we put on some lavender baby lotion on him too.
  • Heidi - we are thinking of you – I know you are probably in for some rough days...  We are so glad we had the time together in Haiti!  Hope your time in FL is wonderful!
Tomorrow… “US” church (as opposed to Haitian) at 10:30 – and other than that… not sure!  J
